Russian attack kills at least 13 people in Ukrainian industrial city

A Russian attack on the large city of Zaporizhzhya in southeastern Ukraine has killed 13 people and injured another 18 on Wednesday afternoon.

According to the Reuters news agency, Governor Ivan Fedorov stated this.

The death toll has been adjusted up significantly in a short time.

Shortly before 3 p.m., the first reports of the attack came. Here it was reported that one civilian had died, while three other civilians had been injured.

On the social media X, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyj, confirms that Zaporizhzhya has been attacked.

– It was a premeditated attack on the city.

– Dozens of people are currently reported injured. Everyone gets the help they need. Quite tragically, we are aware of 13 deaths. My condolences go out to their families and loved ones.

“Unfortunately, the death toll may rise,” Zelensky writes.

Zaporizhzhya is an important Ukrainian industrial and port city that, before the ongoing war, had approximately 730,000 inhabitants.

The city is located next to the river Dnieper.

After the attack, the President of Ukraine calls for increased pressure on Russia to stop the attacks on Ukraine.

– Only with strength can such a war end with lasting peace, he writes.
