Russian company offers reward to anyone who shoots down Ukrainian F-16

The Russian Defense Ministry announced that cash rewards were given for some Leopard and Abrams tanks destroyed in the conflict in Ukraine at a ceremony today.

Deputy Chairman of FORES company Ilya Potanin, whose views were included in the statement and who distributed the cash prizes, said: “Today we gave cash prizes for 17 Abrams and Leopards. 500 thousand rubles were given for each of them.”

Stating that they have decided to offer similar rewards for fighter jets, Potanin said, “Incentives will also be given for the destruction of F-15 and F-16 fighter jets. The reward for the first ones to be destroyed will be 15 million rubles.”

US Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin said on July 10 that the coalition, which includes the US, the Netherlands and Denmark, was working to provide F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine, adding, “The transfer of the F-16s is officially underway and Ukraine will be flying F-16s this summer.”
