Russian retailers sell iPhone 16 despite export ban

Russian retailers are started with the pre-sale of Apple’s iPhone 16, despite the fact that Apple is not allowed to sell the product there. In this gray market, hundreds of dollars extra have to be paid for already not cheap devices.

Russia’s leading electronics store M.Video-Eldorado and mobile network operator MTS are the first to start selling the iPhone 16.

Deliveries will begin next week or at least “as soon as possible,” Reuters reports.

Apple paused all product sales in Russia in March 2022 and has also stopped providing services like Apple Pay there in response to the invasion of Ukraine.
