Nutritionist Titova spoke about a safe diet for the holidays
Nutritionist Ekaterina Titova gave advice to Russians who want to quickly lose weight before the New Year holidays without harm to their health.
The specialist recommended trying a five-day Fasting Mimicking Diet (FMD), which is comfortable and well tolerated.
According to her, such a diet imitates fasting. Senior Lecturer at the Department of Pathophysiology and Clinical Pathophysiology of the Institute of Human Biology and Pathology of Pirogov University in a conversation with the agency “Moscow“said that FMD involves the consumption of vegetable carbohydrates (porridge, broccoli, green salad), vegetable fats (avocado, nuts) and vegetable protein (lentils, mushrooms). “Such products are rich in vitamins and microelements, they are well absorbed. And by the end of the fifth day the person feels better,” Titova said.
At the same time, the expert warned against any diets without consulting a doctor. The doctor also added that there is no completely safe fast diet.
The FMD diet, developed by American scientists, involves a sharp reduction in caloric intake with an emphasis on low-protein, low-carbohydrate and high-fat foods.
