A market trip to Europe is probably about to take το Xiaomi 15 and an FCC listing gives us some more insight into what we can expect from the upcoming global launch. Launched last month in China, the Xiaomi 15 is a powerful flagship, but its global version it will sacrifice two key elements: its RAM and storage space.
The Chinese version has the option to be offered with up to 16GB of RAM along with storage that can go up to 1TB. However, if the FCC listing is to be believed, the global version will only have options for 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage.
A few years ago, 512GB of storage would have seemed pretty decent, but now we don’t have to explain how much our data has changed. There will also be no card slot — in the modern fashion of many smartphones — so the storage won’t be expandable either. And while 12GB of RAM is good enough, the phone would definitely be more usable with 16GB.
Apart from the unnecessary RAM and ROM changes, the phone is very powerful. Some of the features that make it stand out are:
- The latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
- 120 Hz LTPO OLED display with a maximum brightness of up to 3200 nits
- 90W wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
All this for just $620 make the Xiaomi 15 an ideal proposition for many!
