Galata bought Roland Sallai from Freiburg last week. The Hungarian winger was not even named to the squad for the team’s next match, but there was a good chance that he could introduce himself to his new team in one of the most important matches of the Turkish football season, the Fenerbahce-Galatasaray match. And so it happened.
Even though it was away, Sallai could enter the field in a good mood, because by the time he was substituted in the 75th minute, his team was within arm’s reach of victory. The guests actually led 2-0 in the 28th minute, they increased their advantage to three goals after the turn, and even though Edin Dzeko improved, they still easily won 3-1 against José Mourinho’s Fenerbahce.
Galatasaray is thus at the top of the table with eighteen points gained during the six rounds. It is no coincidence that Sallai made a big statement after the match: “We are the best!” he wrote on the X side next to the published video.
