OR Samsung made it official Galaxy A16 5G, which comes with some notable upgrades over its predecessor, including a larger 6.7-inch display and 6 years of Android version updates along with 6 years of security patches.
This level of software support is unprecedented for devices at this price and means the A16 5G will be fully supported and running the latest Android until October 2030.
The rest of the specs include an Exynos 1330 in Europe, while other markets like India and Thailand are expected to get the Dimensity 6300.
The smartphone comes with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage with external support for microSD cards up to 1.5TB. The Galaxy A16 5G is now thinner at 7.9mm. and lost the 3.5mm headphone jack..
The phone runs One UI UI 6.1 based on Android 14 and features Super AMOLED with FHD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate. There’s a 13MP front-facing camera inside a waterdrop notch, while the rear sports a 50MP primary camera, a 5MP ultrawide camera, and a 2MP macro lens.
The Galaxy A16 5G is IP54 rated for water and dust resistance and has a 5,000mAh battery with 25W charging. Samsung France shows the phone has a repairability rating of 8.4/10 just like the A15 5G. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner that doubles as a power key.
The Galaxy A16 5G is available in Midnight Blue, Turquoise and Gray colors. The device is available for €249 in the 4/128GB trim at Samsung France. Shipments are expected to begin soon.
