‘Samsung Galaxy A56 in the making: finally a smooth chip’

The successor to one of Samsung’s most popular phones is coming: the Galaxy A56. It looks like the phone will be much faster.

‘Samsung Galaxy A56 with faster chip is coming’

While it’s likely that Samsung has been working on the Galaxy A56 for months, the first sign of life has now actually leaked. The device appeared in a smartphone database for manufacturers, where they register their new phones.

It is clear that it is the Galaxy A56. Not only because that name is registered, but also because of the model number: ‘SM-A566B/DS’. That number is derived from the Galaxy A55, with the model number ‘SM-A556B/DS’.

The Samsung Galaxy A series is incredibly popular because of its good price-quality ratio. The A55 that was released earlier this year is equipped with an Exynos 1480 chip. That processor is fine for everyday tasks and more powerful than its predecessor, but not a speed demon. The chip in the Galaxy A56 seems to make a big upgrade in that area.

The alleged chip in the smartphone is the Exynos 1580 and it was leaked earlier this year in online benchmarks. It shows that the chip has become considerably faster. So fast that it can match the Snapdragon 888 – the top chip from 2022. The graphics power of the chip is also improving, which means that you will soon be able to game better on it.

Little else is known about the smartphone. We expect three lenses on the back, a colorful amoled screen and of course Android 15. That new software may appear in October this year, after which Samsung will put its own One UI skin on top.
