Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus launch could happen tomorrow

Last year, Google announced a new brand “Plus” for Chromebooks. Any device that has the word “Plus” inside now assures shoppers that they are purchasing a device Chrome OS certain criteria, such as high-end processors, webcam high resolution and minimum system requirements. So far, we’ve seen many Chromebook Plus models from brands like ASUS, Acer, Lenovo, and more.

One absent brand was Samsung, which hasn’t launched a premium Chromebook in years, with the Galaxy Chromebook 2. However, according to industry listings spotted by Chrome Unboxed, we could see the launch of a Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus as early as next week. This would be the first Galaxy-branded Chromebook in years, and Samsung’s first “Plus” model.

Google will in fact hold an event focused on Chromebook in New York City tomorrow, Tuesday, September 24. Rumors about this new Chromebook have been circulating for quite some time now, following its codename “Xol.” According to these rumors, the device will almost certainly be a laptop standard clamshell-style with high-end specs and an “assistant button,” which will almost certainly be related to Gemini. The new Google Assistant could in fact be one of the main topics of tomorrow’s presentation.
