Samsung Galaxy S24 FE vs Galaxy S23 FE: What are the changes and is it worth upgrading?

A series of smartphones Fan Edition (FE) companies Samsung has expanded with a new model this week Galaxy S24 FE. There is no doubt that many customers were waiting for its introduction, including in Slovakia, where the FE edition is very popular. Larger dimensions and a new chipset

The main change compared to its predecessor is visible at first glance. The diagonal of the display has grown from 6.4 to 6.7 inches while generally maintaining the remaining parameters. This means an advantage when consuming the contents, but also slightly less compact dimensions. However, the difference is really small and the weight even increased by only 4 grams.

The IP68 certification has been retained, but there is a newer toughened glass on the front Gorilla Glass Diet+ and a better quality metal frame on the side Armor Aluminium. Another change is a more powerful chipset Exynos 2400ewhich will especially please players. It’s a bit disappointing that the manufacturer still doesn’t offer a version with more RAM than 8 GB, but at least it’s already available 512 GB storage.

Unfortunately not in all markets. Cameras in the new generation have the same basic parameters (resolution, brightness, zoom, stabilization) as in the previous one. However, they are not exactly the same, as indicated by slight changes in their focal lengths. However, with real pictures and videos, the differences will probably not be noticeable. The latest changes concern the battery, price and software support.

The biggest improvement is longer software support

Battery capacity increased from 4 500 mAh already 4 700 mAhwhich should lead to a slightly longer duration (up to 3.5 hours extra). The negative is the higher price, which has risen to 749 eur in the case of the 128 GB version. On the contrary, the biggest plus is up to 7-year guarantee of system updates. It is precisely because of it that you could give preference to the new product over its predecessor when buying. It is up to you whether it is worthwhile to switch from your device or not to reach for last year’s version.
