Samsung Galaxy S25 Slim: iPhone 17 Air competitor is a reality

Her phone numbers Samsung are already quite thin, however, may soon release an even thinner one in response to Apple iPhone 17 Air who is supposed to come next fall to take the place of a possible iPhone 17 Plus.

Apple is reportedly preparing the iPhone Air with a sleeker design, so Samsung may well be forced to do the same.

According to Smartprix, Samsung’s Galaxy S25 Slim has appeared at the Korean version of the FCC.

The exact naming scheme for Samsung’s thinnest smartphone for 2025 is still in the works, and the device carries the model number SM-S937U. This is an addition to the Galaxy S25 trio, which has been spotted in a regulatory database.
Since the Galaxy S24 FE has just been released, it’s logical to assume that the fourth smartphone in the S25 series would be Samsung’s rumored answer to the Apple iPhone 17 Air. So we can expect a slimmer and sleeker build, but relatively weaker specs than the series models. The ā€œUā€ at the end also indicates that this phone will be released in the US.

The launch of the S25 Slim is also set for the second quarter of 2025, or before the iPhone 17 Air, so Samsung can gauge its reception.

In terms of specifications, the 6.7-inch iPhone Air will be very similar to the iPhone Plus series, as it will reportedly come with an A19 chip instead of the A19 Pro chipset, and will also offer a camera set that is far less capable from the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Samsung, however, is said to unify it by equipping the Galaxy S25 Slim with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset that will also power the other phones in the S25 series.
