Company Samsung just before the start of the CES 2025 fair, it introduces its new monitors. We have new versions for players Odyssey OLED G6 (G60SF). In this case, it is a 27″ monitor with a QD-OLED panel, which boasts a very high refresh rate increased to 500 Hz. As for the resolution, it is 2560×1440 pixels. Furthermore, there is Odyssey OLED G8 (G81SF), which is also of the QD-OLED type and has a 27″ diagonal, but in its case the resolution is higher than 4K (3840×2160 pixels). However, this also results in a lower maximum refresh rate. It is still 240 Hz very high. Both models support AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and G-Sync Compatible, and are also VESA DisplayHDR True Black 400 certified.
Samsung also introduced the first smart monitor with an OLED panel and integrated AI. It’s about Smart Monitor M9 (M90SF), which is built on the Tizen operating system, which we know from smart TVs of this brand. The monitor can thus be used directly as a television, enabling the use of e.g. application for streaming services. Here, too, is a QD-OLED panel and we have a 32″ diagonal with a 4K resolution (3840×2160 pixels). The monitor reaches a maximum refresh rate of 165 Hz, has a built-in 4K camera and 4K AI Upscaling Pro technology for increasing the resolution of SD content. We also have AI Picture Optimizer.
A working monitor was also introduced Viewfinity S8 (S80UD). In his case, it is a 37″ panel with UHD 4K resolution. It supports 90W USB-C Power Delivery.
Finally, a 3D monitor was also introduced. 3D still hasn’t caught on yet, because it doesn’t solve any significant problem, and it usually required 3D glasses. In the case of a monitor Odyssey 3D (G90XF) but it is not needed. The camera follows the user’s eyes and adapts the image to it in real time using lenticular lenses to give the impression of a 3D effect. It has a 27″ or 32″ diagonal and a 4K resolution with a refresh rate of 165 Hz. It also contains AI algorithms that handle the conversion of a standard image into 3D, not only for video, but also for games. We find one DisplayPort 1.4 and two HDMI 2.1.
