The Uber Arena sees itself as one of the most modern multi-purpose arenas in the world. Its operator, the Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), provides entertainment for up to 17,000 viewers. Since July 15, 2024, Samsung has been expanding the options for making these events interesting as the location’s Official Technical Partner. Over 500 Samsung LED cabinets provide the audience with exciting input to intensively experience and enjoy the events.

Concerts by world musical stars, comedy or variety shows and, of course, sporting highlights with the Eisbären Berlin or Alba Berlin are on offer: the Uber Arena is a top address for events in Berlin. Thanks to the collaboration with Samsung as the new Official Technical Partner, visitors can now look forward to more entertainment space. The first joint project, the upgrade of the fascia and ribbon board in the arena with LED cabinets from Samsung, was already successfully implemented during the non-game period in August 2024.

Over 500 LED cabinets

A total of 432 cabinets from the XHB Fascia series (LHX10CSF220) are used for the fascia board that frames the upper tier. The reliable, attention-grabbing displays provide captivating information that matches what is happening in the hall. With a pixel pitch of 10 mm, they create an area over a length of around 300 meters that impresses with a brightness of 2,000 nits. The displays are fully coated and therefore protected against condensation, which can occur in ice stadiums. They also have a “Fast Top Service” that enables easy and quick maintenance.

In addition to the XHB Fascia series, 74 indoor LED cabinets from the ISC series (LH059ISCAYC) from Samsung are installed. They form the ribbon board, the surrounding monitor band under the video cube above the playing field. They impress with a circumference of 36 meters. With a pixel pitch of 5.9 mm, they are used to provide fans with exciting information and interesting content during the events.

Voices about partnership

“For Samsung, the partnership with AEG and Uber Arena is an important step into the live entertainment industry. In addition to the arena, the location also includes the Uber Eats Music Hall and the Uber Platz in front of the arena. (..). After the first indoor installations, we think about further ideas together – always with the aim of presenting viewers with even more exciting and intensive experiences,” says Steven Pollok, Director Display Division at Samsung Electronics GmbH.

“We are taking our events to the next level through improved communication options, not just for the audience. The artists can also integrate the new displays into their shows. The option to play video clips, animations, advertising, real-time results and statistics also makes the marketing options even more diverse,” explains Ole Hertel, Managing Director of AEG Operations GmbH.
