Samsung is working on the foldables of the future: the Galaxy Tri-Fold and Galaxy Rollable patents have been leaked

As we anticipated, the sales of foldable smartphones by Samsung they did not meet expectations and for this reason the manufacturer would be working to expand its foldable offer.

Thanks to the leaks reported by veepn.com in collaboration with David Of @xleaks7, we are aware of patent documents that appear to provide a glimpse into two potential devices: the Galaxy Tri-Fold e il Galaxy Rollable.

Samsung Galaxy Tri-Fold

The most surprising element that emerged from the patent images is the three fold design of the Galaxy Tri-Fold. Unlike Samsung’s current foldable devices, which have a single hinge, the Tri-Fold introduces two hinges, allowing the device to fold into a shape more compact when not in use. Once fully opened, the phone transforms into a large tablet-sized display, significantly expanding your viewing space. This design seems ideal for those who need a device that balances portability e productivity, such as multitasking or watching videos on a larger screen.

A notable aspect is that the main section of the Tri-Fold, which houses the rear camera, it is thicker than the two secondary sections. When folded, the thickness of the device is distributed more evenly, potentially making it more comfortable to carry in your pocket. The patent also suggests a unique hinge system, which further refines switching the phone between closed and open modes.

Samsung Galaxy Rollable

In addition to the Tri-Fold, the patents reveal another intriguing concept: a display arrotolabile. The Galaxy Rollable’s design features a screen that can extend upwards, providing more viewing space when needed, while remaining compact when not in use. Once rolled up, the phone looks like the Galaxy Z Flip, with its small square shape, making it easy to carry.

The minimal frames shown in the patent images suggest that Samsung is trying to maximize the display area, which could be particularly useful for having more space without sacrificing portability. On the back, the dual camera system is placed high up, maintaining design consistency with Samsung’s other foldable devices.
