Samsung Put an End to its Camera Protrusion Business

Have you ever been annoyed by the increasingly bulky camera bumps on modern smartphones? While these flagship devices offer incredible clarity and long-range zoom, these features come at a price, such as thick camera bumps. This not only affects aesthetics, but sometimes leads to usability issues, such as unstable wobbling when the device is placed on a flat surface.

Fortunately, Samsung has introduced a game-changing solution: ISOCELL ALoP (All Lenses on Prism) technology, which promises to combine high-quality photography with a thinner and more ergonomic camera design.

Samsung’s ALoP technology redesigns the telephoto camera structure by placing the lenses horizontally on the smartphone body. Instead of placing the lenses vertically between the prism and image sensor, ALoP places them flat in the same plane as the phone. This innovation allows for a larger effective pupil diameter (EPD), providing a brighter lens aperture without increasing the height of the camera bump.

By using a 40° inclined prism and a 10° angled sensor assembly, ALoP reduces the overall height and length of the telephoto camera module by 22% compared to traditional designs.

Similar to Apple, Samsung is reportedly planning a ‘Slim’ model as part of the S25 series, which is expected to launch as a separate version in 2025. It is possible for Samsung to launch this new camera technology with the Slim model and develop it further for the S26 series.
