Samsung reveals the operations behind the security patches for Galaxy smartphones

The new blog post by Samsung details the operations of secret teams within the company that work to ensure that Galaxy devices are well protected from all types of threats. Samsung uses terms like “classified,” “secret” and “military-inspired” to describe its teams.”specialists“ RED, BLUE and PURPLE which are part of a program called “Project Infinity”.

These teams are tasked with safeguarding Samsung devices and are directly responsible for the security updates arriving every month. The RED team simulates attacks on Samsung hardware by examining the vulnerability disclosed and detecting new ones through methods like fuzzing and code auditing.

The BLUE team then works to counteract and fix these vulnerabilities, and they are essentially the people who distribute updates security on Galaxy devices. Meanwhile, the PURPLE team are both attackers and protectors, with specialized knowledge of Galaxy phones.

Once a threat is discovered, the company’s specialized teams then work with developers and operators to block everything and prevent attacks. Samsung’s blog post does not name any of these members of the team to protect their identities due to the nature of their work.
