Samsung seems to have finally decided which processor to choose for the Galaxy S25

The serie Samsung Galaxy S25 should be launched at January 2025 and there are conflicting rumors about the choice of processor. Now, a website has claimed that the new phone Samsung will be powered exclusively by Snapdragon.

The Korean language outlet Hankyung in fact, reports that the Galaxy S25 range will only use the processor Snapdragon 8 Gen 4. The website adds that Samsung’s mobile division head TM Roh will travel to Hawaii for the Snapdragon Summit to negotiate better prices for the new chips.

This report comes just days after a informant ha aconfirmed that the Galaxy S25 will only use Snapdragon. In other words, it seems increasingly likely that the Galaxy S25 series it will not use the Exynos 2500 chip.

Samsung reportedly encountered performance issues with the Exynos 2500 earlier this year. The chip was said to have a rate of return just under 20% by the second quarter of 2024, with a 60% rate of return apparently required for mass production.

Samsung’s exclusive move to the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 for the Galaxy S25 series would be a weapon to double cut. Qualcomm’s previous chips have largely enjoyed a performance advantage over the Exynos, and the new Snapdragon chip is expected to offer a even greater performance upgrade thanks to the use of a custom CPU. However, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 will be more expensive than the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, which could push the Galaxy S25 series to higher prices.
