Samsung sells out all stock of the Galaxy Ring

Today, July 24th, It’s the official release date of the Galaxy RingSamsung’s quantifying ring that was initially previewed by the Korean tech company at Galaxy Unpacked in January, and shown for the first time a few weeks later at Mobile World Congress. Since then, of course, we’ve been waiting for Samsung to confirm both its price and its release date, something that finally happened two weeks ago, on July 10 at Galaxy Unpacked 2024 in the summer.

The announcement came, however, with bad news, and that is that The long-awaited quantifying ring would initially only reach a small selection of markets, Among them, the Spanish one is not included. And we were also able to confirm something that had already reached us through leaks, and that is that its price is 449 euros. However, unlike other quantifying rings, it is not necessary to pay a monthly subscription to access the service that provides all the advanced analytics obtained from the data recorded by the Galaxy Ring.

Its high price, as well as its arrival in a limited number of markets, It made us wonder about the sales estimates Samsung was working with.more specifically whether they expected a huge level of demand or, on the contrary, whether the forecasts were rather pessimistic. The latter seems, of course, less likely, but its launch would still make sense, just as the launch of the first generation of the Galaxy Z did at the time.

We do not yet have specific sales data but, according to we read on AndroidCentral, Samsung has sold out the stock of the Galaxy Ring during the pre-sale phase. And, what’s more, according to collected by 9to5Google just over a week ago, and the first replenishment of stock took place around 10 days ago. This is a tremendously positive sales figure, at least at first glance, which, however, does not give us the full dimension, since it would be necessary to know the total number of units sold during this reservation phase.

Now, for some models (sizes) it is necessary to wait a few days, while in other cases The wait can take about a monthand there are some that are simply not available, as there is no date for restocking, which indicates either that Samsung underestimated the sales possibilities of the Galaxy Ring, or that at the moment its production capacity is not sufficient to cover all the existing demand for its launch.

But then, Is the Galaxy Ring a success? If we measure it in terms of sales volume, we don’t really know, since we don’t know the total number of units sold, but if the metric used is the visibility of its launch, then the answer is an uncontested yes. Now, of course, we will have to wait to see how it evolves in the market, if the volume of demand remains the same, because if it does, it is likely that Samsung has opened up a market that, until now, was much smaller to the general public.
