- Samsung is preparing smart glasses with artificial intelligence
- The equipment is very similar to competing Meta glasses
- Sales should begin in the third quarter of 2025
Samsung is about to enter the smart glasses market. According to fresh information published by leaker @Jukanlosreve on the X social network, the Korean giant was inspired by competing Meta smart glasses. This is evidenced by the technical specifications, which at first glance are very similar to the current competition.
The chipset is supposed to take care of the performance of the glasses Qualcomm AR1i.e. the same processor that can be found in glasses from Meta. Even in other specifications, Samsung does not experiment too much – used 12 Mpx Sony IMX681 camera it has the same resolution as the competition, the battery with a capacity of 155 mAh is practically identical (the Meta has 154 mAh) and the weight of around 50 grams is not surprising either.

The software equipment is more interesting. Samsung has reportedly bet on cooperation with Google and implements the Gemini assistant into the glasses. According to the Maeil Business Newspaper, it should be able to scan QR codes, recognize people or respond to gestures. There should also be support for contactless payments.
According to Chinese research group Wellsen XR Research, Samsung is planning a first batch of half a million units. The glasses should hit the market between July and September next year. We don’t know the price yet. The competitive Ray-Ban Meta Smart Glasses currently cost around 12,000 crowns in Europe, but they are not officially sold in the Czech Republic.
