Samsung users have a lot to look forward to! One UI 7 will be the biggest update ever!

  • According to a well-known leaker, One UI 7 will be the biggest update ever
  • Icon redesign and new animations are expected
  • We’ve known for some time that we’ll also see a feature for locking apps

While Android 15 itself looks like a fairly bland update, it appears that Samsung is preparing a real revolution with its superstructure. At least that’s according to well-known leaker Ice Universe, whose predictions have proven to be very accurate in the past. And now he has been joined by the user @chunvn8888, who has a lot of interesting information up his sleeve.

Ice Universe claims that One UI 7, Samsung’s build for Android 15, will be “the most changed version in the history of One UI”. That’s a pretty bold claim, but given the fact that recent versions of One UI haven’t brought any major design changes, we have no problem believing it.

What exactly does that mean? Unfortunately, the details are still very sketchy. The leaker mentions that we will see brand new icons and improved animations. In a post on the Chinese Weibo network, he adds that there will also be changes in the “drop-down panel”.

Another user @chunvn8888 hinted that he would One UI 7 heavily inspired by Apple’s iOS 18 look. The battery indicator will get a percentage indicator directly in the icon, this function will supposedly be turned on by default. The icons will be rounded and boast a 3D effect similar to macOS or VisionOS. But in another thread the leaker mentions that the icons look like they are from Chinese superstructures from 2010 and are too childish.

The icons and the battery indicator are not the only elements where Samsung is inspired by the apple giant. A significant change also awaits us in the notification panel. It will be new divided, just like Apple has or optionally HyperOS for example. A swipe down from the top right corner should show the quick settings menu, if you swipe left the last notification will show up. They say we’ll see too redesigned and simplified Camera application.

The only concrete news that Samsung has confirmed so far is the “App Lock” feature, which will make it possible lock entire applications. Until now, only media files could be locked through the Secure Folder. When will we see the new One UI 7? Samsung will probably first launch a beta program where it will test the new products, just like every year. The final version could then appear first on devices such as the Galaxy S24 or the recently introduced Galaxy Z Fold6 and Flip6 folding devices.

Do you feel that Samsung’s superstructure needs a radical makeover?
