The latest addition to Samsung’s ViewFinity S6 series is called ViewFinity S65VC (model name S34C652VAU) and goes as All-rounder at the start, which is Suitable for the office as well as for games.

The S65VC supports both areas of application with its 34-inch VA display, which has a resolution of 3440 x 1440 pixels and with the Screen curvature of 1000R (circle radius 1 meter) provides a good overview. There is also one Frame frequency of 100 Hertzwhich not only has advantages when playing games, but is also noticeable in office use through slightly smoother window and mouse pointer animations than a standard 60 Hertz display.

The 1000R curvature of the 34-inch model roughly corresponds to the curved field of view of human vision and thus provides a good overview.

Automatic image adjustment

Die typical brightness Samsung specifies the HDR10-capable monitor as 350 cd/m². The S65VC performed well in the test average 390 cd/m² a good bit above and scores with one Contrast ratio of 3818:1 with a strong color representation. It’s not always exactly on the ideal line, but manual adjustment of the display parameters is ultimately only necessary if you want to use the S65VC for image editing or similar tasks where the highest possible color precision is important.

For office applications and games, however, the standard settings are easily sufficient, as this is subjective Nothing wrong with the image quality gives.

In HDR mode, we get 410 cd/m² as maximum brightness from the ViewFinity S65VC, which it also achieves with SDR content.

Depending on the lighting situation in the room, the luminosity provided by the S65VC can be almost too bright – in… SDR-Mode we measure 410 cd/m² as Maximum – and therefore strain your eyes in the long run.

Practically, the monitor can automatically provide a remedy here if desired, as it can adjust both the brightness and the color temperature Sensor-controlled adapt to the environment. You can also activate an eye-friendly mode that reduces the amount of blue light in the image.

At HDR content We also get one from the HDR10-compatible Samsung monitor maximum brightness of 410 cd/m².

Strong in office use

The height-adjustable, rotatable and tiltable S65VC shows its best side in office use. In addition to the HDMI 2.0 port and the DisplayPort 1.2, the 34-inch model has a USB-C port Charges laptops with up to 90 watts and at the same time give them access to the internal USB hub (2x USB 3.0) of the monitor and its Ethernet-Port granted.

If you connect two devices to the Samsung screen, you can use them via the integrierten KVM-Switch with a single mouse-keyboard set. A picture-in-picture or picture-by-picture mode can be activated in which the two signal sources either appear split in the middle of the screen or one of them is displayed in a small preview window while the second takes up the entire screen.

Stereolautsprecher with 2x 5 watts, one Kopfhörerausgang as well as one Pop-up-Webcam with 5 megapixels and Windows Hello support complete the office features of the S65VC.

Wer save money If you want to, choose the 34-inch sister model instead ViewFinity S65UC (LS34C652UAUXEN). This lacks the S65VC’s webcam, but does have one more USB-A port. Samsung offers a three-year guarantee on both models.

If you ignore the 100 heart display, the S65VC’s gaming talents are more or less limited to thatFreeSync support. That’s enough for gaming, but the ViewFinity S65VC doesn’t come close to a monitor that specializes in games.

Very good

Additional information

Tested by the PCgo + PC Magazine editorial team.

That’s what it’s for Input lag at 100 Hertz with 20 ms a bit too high, and important gaming extras such as LFC (Low Framerate Compensation) are missing. The LFC prevents image stuttering when the game frame rate drops below the display’s minimum refresh rate. Gaming therefore only remains smooth in the range from 48 to 100 Hertz when FreeSync is active.
