CES 2025
Samsung is presenting its new TV concept Samsung Vision AI at CES 2025. The system combines personalized AI functions, innovative display technologies and deep integration into the smart home. The Neo QLED 8K QN990F is the top model in the spotlight.
With Samsung Vision AI, the Korean company is launching a new generation of smart televisions. The devices should automatically adapt to the environment and user usage. The innovative functions include “Click to Search”, which provides additional information about current content at the touch of a button without interrupting the picture. “Live Translate” enables real-time translation of subtitles, while “Generative Wallpaper” customizes the screen.
Central control of the smart home
Samsung Vision AI expands the possibilities of smart home integration. The Home Insights feature allows you to monitor connected devices and receive security alerts in real time. With Pet and Family Care, users can track the status of pets and family members – unusual behavior is reported immediately and lighting is automatically adjusted when children are sleeping.
Improved image and sound quality through AI
According to Samsung, on-device AI technologies are intended to dynamically improve image and sound quality. The “8K AI Upscaling Pro” function upscales lower resolution content to 8K level. In addition, “Auto HDR Remastering Pro” ensures optimized color representation and “Adaptive Sound Pro” ensures a balanced sound by adjusting dialogue and background noise separately.
These new technologies will be found in the NEO QLED 8K QN990F, among others. It combines top performance from the new NQ8 AI Gen3 processor with a slim design.
Cooperations for expanded usage options
Samsung Vision AI continues to expand through partnerships with companies like Microsoft. By integrating Microsoft Copilot, smart TVs and monitors should offer personalized content suggestions. Collaborations with Google and other partners are also being planned to expand the AI ecosystem.
Art and design in focus: The Frame Pro and expanded Art Store
With the launch of The Frame Pro and the expansion of the Samsung Art Store, Samsung is increasingly targeting art lovers. The Art Store now offers over 3,000 works that can be displayed on various models such as The Frame, Neo QLED and QLED. The Frame Pro promises even higher image quality thanks to Neo QLED technology and can be used more flexibly in the room thanks to the new Wireless One Connect function.
Visionary technologies for the future
In addition, Samsung is demonstrating future areas of application for display technologies with concepts such as the ultra-short-throw projector The Premiere 5 and the MICRO LED Beauty Mirror. While the projector enables interactive projections, the Beauty Mirror is intended to offer personalized skin analysis.
TV with RGB Micro LED
Samsung is also showing 4K and 8K models with RGB Micro LED technology at CES. This promises improved color accuracy and reduced power consumption. RGB Micro LED technology is a further development of previous LED backlighting.
Unlike traditional micro-LEDs that use self-illuminating pixels, this technology optimizes backlighting by using tiny LED pixels that are under 100 microns in size. These pixels consist of red, green and blue subpixels.
Samsung states that energy consumption can be reduced by up to 30 percent because only the required colors of the subpixels light up and less light is lost through color filters. Compared to previous models and competing products, RGB Micro LED technology offers a slimmer design that makes the television more visually appealing. The new models are available in sizes 75, 85 and 98 inches, the latter with an 8K resolution. Samsung has announced that the televisions will soon leave prototype status and go on sale.
Samsung will provide information about specific models and prices over the course of the year.
