Samsung will not sell manufacturing division, apologizes to investors for financial results

A few days ago we brought you speculation about the alleged separation or outright sale of Samsung’s manufacturing division, with an announcement expected at the end of October when financial results are released. Even before that, however, Samsung published preliminary financial results, with which, among other things, it refutes the aforementioned speculation.

Executive Chairman Jay Y. Lee confirmed the information to Reuters magazine. Even if the original plan, i.e. to create another “side” business outside of your memory, is not working out and the processor division is still showing big losses, Samsung he says he wants to “further expand the business, not cut it off.” The management will thus continue to support the division, including by trying to fix the problems of the American factory in Texas.

Currently, we have only three companies in the world that have advanced technologies for the production of high-performance processors – TSMC…

This claim comes despite the Korean giant apologizing to its investors, employees and customers for the disappointing results with the release of preliminary results for the third quarter of this year. Although total revenues climbed to $6.8 billion, representing year-on-year growth of 275 percent, they did not reach the anticipated $7.4 billion. There are several reasons, one of them being the beginning of problems with their memory division, which has yet to release a new generation of HBM chips. These have already been revealed by competitor SK Hynix.
