Samsung’s Galaxy S25 gets the new Snapdragon 8 Elite

Samsung has confirmed that it will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite in the Galaxy S25, but the confusion continues nonetheless.

Qualcomm has unveiled its upcoming flagship processor Snapdragon 8 Elite. In addition, Samsung has officially confirmed that it will use the processor in the upcoming Galaxy S25 flagship series.

Despite this, there is still some confusion over the extent to which the flagship mobiles will use the processor, and there is a series of speculations and alleged leaks about what the company’s plan is.

The simplest and most direct statement is that the Galaxy S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra will all use the Snapdragon 8 Elite.

There is also information that only the S25 Ultra will use the Snapdragon processor, while the S25 and S25+ will instead use Samsung’s own Exynos 2500 processor.

As if this wasn’t enough, there are rumors of manufacturing issues with the Exynos 2500 which would mean that it cannot deliver enough millions of processors to cover Samsung’s needs. Therefore, similar to the previous scenario, Samsung would use the Snapdragon 8 Elite in the S25 Ultra, but bet on a Mediatek processor in the other models.

The only thing that is certain at the moment is that Samsung will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite somewhere. A long list of other mobile manufacturers have also confirmed that they will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite in their products shortly. Xiaomi is said to be the first with the Xiaomi 15 which will be released soon and manufacturers such as Oneplus, Asus, Honor and more are also in the running.
