Samsung has announced that it will make theGood Lock app available globally and on the Google Play Store. The news was confirmed by a company employee, who indicated that the distribution will take place with the release of One UI 7.0 based on Android 15.
Good Lock, an app that allows extensive user interface customizations on Galaxy smartphones and tablets, was until now limited to a few select countries. The expansion of availability responds to criticism from fans who have long called for broader access.
In addition to geographical expansion, Samsung will also distribute Good Lock through the Google Play Storeno longer just through the proprietary Galaxy Store. This move will satisfy users who prefer to download all apps from the official Android store.
While no precise timing was provided, global and Play Store availability will likely coincide with the official release of One UI 7 for the Galaxy S24 series (purchasable on Amazon) and other compatible devices. According to rumors, One UI 7 should come out of the beta phase around February.
