‘Samsung’s next budget phone isn’t exactly groundbreaking’

Images of the next Samsung Galaxy A device have leaked. The A16 shines in a new color, but what else is new? Read all about it here.

Samsung Galaxy A16 leaked: recognizable design

Although the Samsung Galaxy A16 is still a few months away from its intended launch, it has already been spotted in leaked images. Tech website Android Headlines managed to get the pictures and shared them online, which gives us more information about the unreleased device.

Starting with the design of the casing. Apart from a bright light blue or green colour, it looks almost identical to its predecessor: the Galaxy A15. This means that it has flat sides, three separate cameras on the back and the so-called ‘Key Island’ around the power and volume keys.

The screen also seems the same, with a notch at the top for the selfie camera. However, the screen edges seem to be slightly thinner at the top and sides. At the bottom of the screen, there is still a thick ‘chin’. What the resolution and refresh rate of the screen are is still unclear: the A15 had a full-hd screen with 90Hz.

Alleged Samsung Galaxy A16 specifications

The Samsung Galaxy A16 has previously appeared on Geekbencha platform for testing and sharing the speed of smartphones. It turned out that the phone is powered by the Exynos 1330, but it has also been spotted with a MediatTek Dimensity 6300 chip. In both cases, it is a cheaper processor that is suitable for light daily use.

It also looks like the device will feature a 5000 mAh battery, which is pretty standard in this price range. As working memory, there is 4GB of RAM. Geekbench is really not always that reliable, so take the information with a grain of salt for now.
