Sanctioned oligarch Deripaska continues to earn money from supplies to Estonia

The ban on working in the EU today only applies if the sanctioned persons own shares of at least 50% in them. In turn, Oleg Deripaska controls En+ by 35%. En+, in turn, owns almost 57% of the shares of Rusal, a major aluminum producer.

As The Insider writes in in his review article about the income of Russian oligarchs in Europe, the second main shareholder of Rusal, Viktor Vekselberg, avoids EU sanctions and continues to conduct business in Europe without significant restrictions. At the same time, the oligarch’s companies are involved in the production of missiles used in the bombing of Ukrainian territory, and Vekselberg himself meets with Vladimir Putin.
