Sarjis and Hasnat are coming to Rangpur, plain japa from Pratihat’s announcement

The Jatiya Party withdrew from the position of not allowing the two coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement, Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah, to come to Rangpur.

Mustafizar Rahman, co-chairman of Jatiya Party and former mayor of Rangpur City Corporation, said this in response to questions from journalists after a meeting organized at the central office of Jatiya Party on Central Roads in Rangpur city on Friday night.

He said, I have no personal rivalry with the two coordinators. The announcement was made because of the sentiments of our party leaders and workers as they took a stand against the party. We withdrew from this apparent ultimatum because the Inspector General of Police was coming on the day Hasnat Abdullah and Sarjis Alam arrived in Rangpur. We are cautiously not resisting them at this time so that there is no chaos or any major clashes in the city around the IGP event. The chairman of the party has ordered so.

He also said that since various crises have arisen with the President, we do not want to give any opportunity to anyone to gain any other benefits under the cover of any of our programs.

Jatiya Party Central Committee Presidium Member and Metropolitan General Secretary, Abdur Razzak Central Committee Joint General Secretary and others were present in the staff meeting.

Earlier on October 14, the former mayor of Rangpur City Corporation threatened not to allow the two coordinators of the anti-discrimination student movement to come to Rangpur from a worker’s meeting of the party. He said that after the announcement made by Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah about Jatiya Party, those two coordinators will not be allowed to come to Rangpur.

He also said that even after that, if the two coordinators give any message against the Jatiya Party on Facebook, then all the leaders, workers and supporters of the Jatiya Party will come to the party office in Rangpur with whatever they have. At the time of his announcement, GM Quader, the former leader of the opposition in the parliament and the chairman of the party, was present as the chief guest at the meeting of party workers at the district and metropolitan Jatiya Party office in Rangpur city.

Incidentally, on Saturday the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Md. Moinul Islam is going to Rangpur. He will participate in various programs of the army on this day.
