Say goodbye to planning hassles in meeting rooms: Logitech launches smart tools for the office

New functions such as Auto Book and Auto Release simplify room reservations, while Logitech View makes it easy to find your way around large office complexes.

Logitech today launches a suite of Sync smart office tools to improve the meeting experience for employees in the workplace and provide enterprise IT teams with solid data to act on.

The Auto Book and Auto Release functions automatically reserve and cancel room bookings based on employee behavior, and the interactive digital map of the office Logitech View makes navigating large office complexes more intuitive.

A study shows that 40% of employees waste up to 30 minutes a day searching for meeting rooms*. The problem is that people either use meeting rooms without booking them, stay in rooms after their reservation time or completely fail to show up to booked rooms (“ghosting”).

– Now that hybrid work is so widespread, the office can feel like the Wild West in larger organizations. Logitech’s smart office tools are the secret weapon for bringing predictability and detailed insight to dynamic work environments, said Henry Levak, VP of Product, Logitech for Business.

Auto Book and Auto Release solve these challenges

When employees start using a meeting room, make a reservation Auto Book it automatically. And vice versa; if a meeting room is reserved but no one shows up, release Auto Release the space for others. After several meetings where there have been no-shows, the entire recurring series can also be automatically cancelled. The changes will then appear in the calendar and on the Logitech Tap Scheduler screen.

– Our Rally Bar video bars use in-camera AI sensors to automatically detect and respond to natural workplace behavior without the need for human intervention. Employees can focus less on manual actions and more on collaboration, and IT administrators get a realistic picture of which rooms are actually being used – not just which rooms are booked, says Levak.

The new features can be used with Logitech’s Rally Bar or Rally Bar Mini video conferencing bars, regardless of whether the organization uses Appspace, Envoy, Microsoft, RICOH Spaces, Robin, Zoom or other booking platforms.

Availability status updates are reflected in near real-time in Logitech Viewa digital mapping solution for offices. Wayfinding in large office complexes is made easier via quick color codes that show meeting rooms, workstations, facilities and exits. The maps can be displayed on large screens using the Logitech RoomMate. On the touch screen, people can book rooms directly on the map or search for their colleagues’ desks.

Make life easier for IT teams

The benefits are many for IT teams responsible for ensuring conference rooms are equipped with the right technology at the right times. The same applies to the teams tasked with continuously optimizing the office properties.

“Under- and over-utilized rooms are bad for the bottom line,” says Prakash Arunkundrum, Chief Operating Officer and GM of Logitech for Business, explaining that Logitech Sync Insights provides data analysis on space usage, occupancy and use of video conferencing equipment during meetings so that IT teams can make smarter decisions about technology investments and space planning.
