A post appeared on Facebook that was more reminiscent of a scene from an American action movie than a fan clash from a lower Slovak competition.

“I’ve seen a lot in football, but never this,” he described the situation for Sportnet Daniel Vydra, a fan of the guests from Horné Hričov, author of the aforementioned status.

The first half of the match between Gbeľany and Horný Hričov ended without goals and had a peaceful course. Until the footballers went to the dressing room.

“The person in question, I would call him a chronic screamer, kept shouting. The delegate warned him to behave himself. But he jumped two rows, pulled out a pistol, cocked it and put it to his head. I was standing twenty meters away from it. I was afraid. The sound of the shutter and you’re looking right at it… Someone in the stands then shouted: Call the police. The person in question jumped on the scooter and left,” informed the source.

The police arrested the man on the run shortly after, he was supposed to be a former referee. The match was interrupted for more than 40 minutes. Vladimír Baďura, the threatened delegate of the meeting, commented on everything.

“He addressed the players and referees in a rude and vulgar way, so I considered it necessary to warn him and asked him to express himself politely. It happened very quickly. I realized the seriousness of the situation only when some of the spectators started to run away. I was afraid, my life was in danger,” he zoomed in on the terrifying and disgusting moment.

“I wanted to record his behavior on video. In this he approached me, I believed that he wanted to prevent me from making the recording. But he started threatening me with a gun. In a match that was played in a friendly atmosphere? It is a reprehensible act. Even the people were horrified. I have never experienced anything like this in my career. Now I will seriously consider what to do next,” added Baďura.

Horný Hričov finally took home three points from the Gbelian turf after a 2:0 victory. But the moments from the football match were overshadowed by the unpleasant events off the field, which will be talked about in Gbeľany for a long time.
