Highly anticipated by fans of Star Warsseason 2 ofAndor is scheduled for 2025. While information about it is scarce, Lucasfilm has just revealed the first official image.
Andor: season 2 is revealed in pictures
Since the launch of the Disney+ platform in November 2019, Lucasfilm has decided to capitalize on the series Star Wars. After the success of The Mandalorian – since renewed for two additional seasons -, we were successively entitled to The Book of Boba Fett, Obi-Wan Kenobi, Andor, Ahsoka et The Acolyte. That said, apart from The Mandalorian et Andor which were very warmly welcomed, the other series Star Wars have provoked much criticism, even indifference, from the public. So much so that The Acolyte was canceled after its first season, when it was to be the starting point of a broader saga devoted to the period of the High Republic. Lucasfilm has also decided to slow down the pace of releases Star Wars. For now, only one has been announced for 2025: it is season 2 ofAndor.
Often considered the best series Star Wars to date, Andor is the prequel to the film Rogue One: a Star Wars storydirected by Gareth Edwards. The series follows the adventures of young Cassian Andor, and his entry into the Rebel Alliance. Thanks to Andor, Actor Diego Luna was nominated for the Golden Globe for Best Actor in a Drama Series. Le show Star Wars is also among the most popular series of 2022, a particularly prolific year for serivores since the series have also been released House of the Dragon (from HBO) et Severance (d’AppleTV+).
From the start, showrunner Tony Gilroy – known among other things for his work on the saga Jason Bourne – announced its desire to conclude the series with its season 2. Initially planned for 2024, season 2 was postponed to 2025, due to the writers’ strike that paralyzed Hollywood in fall 2023. While the press and fans have their eyes glued to D23 – the big mass of the Disney group which is currently being held in Brazil -, Lucasfilm has just revealed the first official image of season 2 ofAndor. We can see the main character there, dressed in a new costume.
As a reminder, season 2 will have twelve episodes and will have the mission of connecting the end of the first season with the beginning of the film Rogue One. Season 2 will be composed of four narrative arcs, separated by a one-year ellipse every three episodes. Currently we have no release window, but we can expect additional information during D23or when the series is broadcast Skeleton Crewwhose launch is scheduled for December 4, 2024.
