SeaTable 5 with no-code app builder and improved visualization options

With version 5.0, the no-code database SeaTable gets a new no-code app builder. It is designed to make it possible to create applications that access a SeaTable database, optimally display data for users and can also write to the database.

The advantage: The app design allows you to precisely control which data a user sees, how the data is visualized and how they can interact with the data. This allows workflows to be mapped accurately. An app consists of pages that can be put together without any programming knowledge. This allows you to create customized applications for the respective user groups.

In SeaTable 5.0, a total of 9 page types are available, including table, kanban, calendar and timeline. New in this release is the page type “Single record”, which allows the display of a record in an individual design.

Three plugins for complex visualizations

Another highlight of SeaTable 5.0 are the new plugins that allow you to visualize the dependencies, structures and processes in a database:

  • Organizational chart: The organizational chart plugin allows you to display hierarchies between the records in a table, such as positions in a company or superior and subordinate tasks in a project.
  • Table relationships: This plugin makes it possible to see which tables are linked via which columns.
  • Whiteboard: The whiteboard is the first plugin that works independently of the data in a database. It gives users the freedom to graphically visualize processes and structures that they cannot display with previous plugins.

“Especially when there are many tables with thousands of rows in a database, you quickly lose track of how they relate to each other,” explains Christoph Dyllick-Brenzinger, Technical Director and founder of SeaTable GmbH. “The new plugins are therefore extremely useful for firstly visualizing dependencies between data records in a table, secondly making relationships between tables in a database visible and thirdly freely sketching complex processes and structures.”

Improved accessibility

To give all users optimal access to its digital no-code solution, SeaTable has also invested in improving accessibility for version 5.0. This includes optimizing the ARIA tags for improved support of non-visual output devices, adjusting the color scheme for better contrast, and revising the keyboard controls.

SeaTable 5.0 will be available from July 15, 2024 and is available on Docker Hub for your own on-premises installation. More information on the company’s website: https://seatable.io.
