Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week (SECW) will focus on achieving EU goals through research and real needs, offering simultaneous sessions and numerous networking opportunities with experts, international organizations, the business community and the media.
The goal of the event is to support the transition to a sustainable energy system in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Western Balkan region, increase awareness of the importance of sustainable energy and climate change, and connect participants from different sectors to exchange knowledge and innovative technologies.
SECW will be held from September 23 to 27, 2024, at several locations in Sarajevo: at the Hills Hotel, at the headquarters of the Government of the Federation of BiH/Energoinvest and the Chamber of Commerce of the FBiH.
Also, meetings, presentations and formal receptions during this week will be held in the residences of the embassies, in Sarajevo City Hall and at additional locations that will be announced before the start of the event.
SECW is a conference of international character and is held under the high patronage of Denis Bećirević, President of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ministry of Human Rights and Refugees of Bosnia and Herzegovina, then Igor Stojanović, Vice President of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Ministry of Energy, Mining and Industry FBiH, the Ministry of Environment and Tourism of the FBiH, the Government of Sarajevo Canton, the City of Sarajevo, the City of Mostar and with the support of numerous other international and domestic institutions and organizations.
Angela Wilkinson, Secretary General and Executive Director of the World Energy Council, has been announced as the key speaker of the second edition of SECW, who will speak about key trends in global energy and climate flows.
Last year, this event was attended by more than 1,000 participants, 240 panelists, 23 moderators, and supported by almost 50 partners and 33 sponsors, along with 15 exhibitors.
