The Local Police of Martorell started last Monday the safe mobility classes aimed at Primary students from the schools of Martorell. Throughout the week, the officers visit the second, fourth and sixth year classrooms to work on theoretical aspects with the boys and girls to help them make their mobility on public roads safer. It is planned that the practical sessions will be carried out throughout the second term of the course.
Safe mobility classes allow students to learn traffic rules on public roads, civility and safety. The basic objectives of the program are to improve coexistence on public roads, increase road safety, prevent accidents and prepare the drivers of the future. For this reason, the road safety regulations that must be learned in order to drive on the streets are disseminated to the students, with the aim that they become aware of the dangers and conditions of the road and that they are better prepared to drive in the future.
Training is focused according to age. In this way, the second year students “work on safe mobility as pedestrians and as users of private vehicles”. The fourth-graders “work on safe mobility as users of public transport” and finally, the sixth-graders “work on safe mobility as users of the bicycle path”, explains Mohamed Bouachmir, local police officer of Martorell .

The agent explains that the methodology used by the Martorell Local Police officers who go to all the schools in the town is “very active. It always takes into account that the protagonist is the student, and we use game dynamics where they learn while having fun.” Bouachmir adds that “it is the students themselves who give us the solutions after reflecting on the topics we present to them”.

In addition, the agent emphasizes that “the students really enjoyed this theoretical session” and that “they are already looking forward to the practical part”. In this sense, it is planned that the officers of the Local Police of Martorell will call the students themselves to the practical learning session during the second term of the school year.
