Xiaomi’s first electric car has arrived with a bang, arousing real curiosity among consumers. Now, several weeks after its arrival on the market, second-hand SU7 units are being sold for a higher price than the original.
The SU7 marked Xiaomi's debut in the automotive market and, for that reason, the euphoria surrounding it was great. In fact, it still is. As reported by CarsNewsChina, Li Dazhui decided to sell his Xiaomi SU7 Max Founders Edition after a friend told him that the electric car was currently being sold second-hand for a higher price than he had paid for the new model.
This phenomenon will be related to scarcity, considering that the Xiaomi model is no longer available.
Num video Published on July 23, Li Dazhui shows the process of selling his Max Founders Edition. The owner of the electric car drove it for about three months and, in that time, covered just over 3,600 km. During that time, he was hit once, resulting in some damage to the SU7.
In the same video, he shows a screenshot of an app that lists the prices of several pre-owned Xiaomi SU7s. These include 343,000 yuan (about 43,000 euros) for a SU7 Max with 600 kilometers and 335,000 yuan (about 42,000 euros) for one with 1,900 kilometers. All of these appear to be Founders Editions. The SU7 Max is priced at 299,900 yuan (about 38,000 euros), according to the communication agency.
Due to the damage to his car, Li Dazhui agreed to sell his Xiaomi SU7 Max Founders Edition for 280,000 yuan (around 35,000 euros) to a second-hand car dealership in Beijing, China. In Li's view, the price is too high, and he could sell it after four months for the same price it cost new.
