New factory established on 29,006㎡ site

KGA, a secondary battery company, sets up shop in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi-do.

Pyeongtaek City announced on the 10th that it signed an investment agreement for the Pyeongtaek Brain City general industrial complex with KGA at the external cooperation office of the city hall on the 8th. The signing ceremony was attended by Pyeongtaek Mayor Jeong Jang-seon and KGA CEO Kim Ok-tae.

With this agreement, the company decided to invest 70 billion won to build a new factory on a 29,006㎡ site in the Pyeongtaek Brain City general industrial complex and hire about 200 employees. KGA is a company headquartered in Hwaseong City that specializes in manufacturing and solutions for secondary battery processing equipment and duct automation equipment.

The city said, “Secondary batteries are an essential industry for laying the foundation for various value chains along with semiconductors, hydrogen, and future automobiles, which are the city’s next-generation industries,” and added, “KGA, which is growing based on excellent technology, is a company with great potential capacity as the electric vehicle market expands.” “He explained.

Mayor Jeong said, “We will faithfully implement the terms of the agreement and provide active administrative support so that the factory can operate within the company’s planned deadline.”

Meanwhile, the city will hold the ‘2024 Pyeongtaek City Investment Attraction Information Session’ at Anne Palace Convention near Pyeongtaek Jije Station on the 26th.
