SEE DIG 9 in Belgrade

In the period from November 24 to 26, the annual event SEE DIG 9 will be held under the slogan “SEE Potential: Digital Turning Points and Responsible Governance”.

The central event will be held at the Mona Plaza Hotel in Belgrade on November 25 and 26 and will focus on improving cyber security, promoting digital rights and ensuring equal internet access in the Southeast European region. SEE DIG 9 will be organized by the South Eastern European Dialogue on Internet Governance association (seedig.net), in cooperation with the National Internet Domain Registry of Serbia. Through multi-stakeholder dialogue, lectures and activities, SEE DIG 9 aims to provide a domestic and foreign audience with an overview of current topics and activities in the sphere of Internet management. The event was supported and sponsored by the United Nations (through the global IGF), ISOC, RIPE, ICANN, EuRID, Serbian Open Exchange, OSCE, RYCO, while numerous partners include the Council of Europe, Internews, Freedom House and others.

Planned sessions include some of of the most current global topics which have an impact on all of us, such as the Global Digital Compact (recently voted in the UN), as well as local ones that concern both Europe as a whole and our region. Guests and lecturers come from many countries, and the variety of topics (from technical ones like IPv6 and IDN, to human rights) promises a very good dialogue and a lot of information. What precedes this event is the SEE DIG youth school (under 30 years old), who through a process of combined online and offline activities learn about the topic of internet management. The main part of this school will be organized in cooperation with RYCO, OSCE and AIESEC, in the OSCE building, on November 24, where over 30 young people from almost all countries of the region will meet.

Attendance at the main event on November 25 and 26 is free, with mandatory registration on the website seedig.netand a live broadcast of the entire event will be organized on the SEE DIG YouTube channel.
