Seniors who will receive BONUS after the recalculation from Sept. 1

After the recalculation promised in September, the authorities say they will analyze again the files of those who had non-permanent incomes. In the second stage, retirees who worked in industry, mining, and the public system are targeted.

With files full of certificates from former employers, pensioners these days are flocking to the counters to complete their files.

In the second stage of the recalculation, according to the law, the authorities will take into account the pension and non-permanent increases, premiums, various awards, the 13th salary, overtime or the global agreement.

The head of the National Public Pension House (CNPP), Daniel Baciu, spoke about these details:

“In stage I, all approximately five million pensioners benefit, everyone will receive recalculated pensions. Among them, over three million pensioners will have pension increases, some very large, spectacular”.

“Here I am referring to the stability points, which is a novelty in this new pension law: those who contribute more than 25 years will receive, as a bonus, these stability points. Therefore, in stage I, absolutely all pensions from the public system in payment will enter”, the official declares, accordingly InfoFinancial.

Who gets bonus after recalculation?

Thus, Daniel Baciu describes to the retired Romanians what follows, i.e. a second stage:

“For stage II, we are only talking about those pensioners who had these non-permanent increases, which, at the moment, are not taken into account for their pension. This will happen, we have 6 months, from September 1, when the law enters into force, for us to calculate them ex officio”.

“It’s about the global agreement, which is the biggest increase, that’s where you’ll see the biggest increases. We have until February 2025 to recalculate all these pensions, we call it the second small recalculation.

The first recalculation concerns absolutely all pensioners, and the second benefits only those pensioners who worked in those sectors of activity that had increases of a non-permanent nature: the 13th salary, overtime, awards, granted sporadically”, he declared head of CNPP.

In this way, according to what was declared by Daniel Baciu, the increases in this stage will not be so big. If we take in comparison with the first stage of these pension increases. Initially, it is about giving those stability points to all pensioners who earn more than 25 years.

“We receive these certificates frequently at the counters of territorial pension houses. It is this period of six months, which we recalculate ex officio and they receive the legal rights due to them for these increases, starting on September 1, but there is no specific period”.

“They can always come to the counters of the territorial pension houses to submit these certificates with these allowances. Where the employers are active and functioning, even if the former employees are retired and no longer part of the employees, the employers are obliged, according to the Labor Code, to issue these certificates for the former employees”, said Daniel Baciu.
