September 20 – the last day of registration for artists at the second edition of Collage Festival Bucharest. The event’s eclectic program invites experimentation

crayons, in partnership with The Art Cell, Be good and Green Hours Association they conceived a festival meant to promote the art of collage, which, although it has many representative artists in Romania, does not enjoy the attention it deserves. Between October 25 and 27 the Green Hoursunder the title Playing with realitythe organizers propose a playful program that emphasizes the eclecticism and flexibility of collage art, while also inviting interested artists to enter works in the festival. The deadline is September 20 the time 23:59artists can enter a maximum of five works using the form availableand the winners will be notified by email on October 7, 2024. Selected works from 30 artists will be exhibited for a month, starting with the opening of the festival, on October 25and the festival will also promote the respective artists by creating digital portfolios hosted on the online platform. The first three selected artists will also receive cash prizes.

For the general public, the festival has prepared a varied series of activities, from live painting events with Be good (every day of the festival), to contemporary dance performances, film screenings, DJ sets and concerts, discussions with representatives and theorists of collage art, artistic performances and theater performances.

Thus, Friday, October 25 from the hour 18:30the festivities will be opened by a performance by Oana Iordăchescuan artist known for her involvement in the Festival of Letters, labyrinth theater performances and collective exhibitions such as “Flowers, Girls, Films and Boys”. From the hour 19:30 the opening of the exhibition will take place Playing with realityof which he is the main curator Daniel Loagarthe founder The Art Cell and the workshop Wood be nice. Then, from the hour 20:30the evening is dedicated to music, starting with a concert Tony Baboonwhich mixes reggae music with rap, jazz, afrobeats and funk, while also making videos and animations. The relaxed and eclectic atmosphere will then be maintained by Dilimanjaroand from the hour 23:30 the after-party will begin, with DJ Ioan Straton on the buttons.

Saturday, October 26, between 16:00 and 17:00 the first open discussion of this edition of the festival will take place on the terrace Green Hourswith conf. Univ. Dr. Sebastian Gramaon the theme “Philosophy of collage”. Moderator will be Andrei Standigital and analog collage artist, video director and musician. DJ Obeah will play music on the patio between 17:00 and 18:00and from 18:30 in GDS Room there will be a one-man show “Loneliness Diary”a journey full of stories and emotions, a rollercoaster of intense experiences, humor and depth, a walk through paintings of life and themes such as loneliness, identity and the human condition, directed by Andrei Stancu Laurence Stan. From the hour 19:30those from FilmColorat have prepared a series of screenings in Mansarda Green Hours. The concerts will start from 20:30cu The Mo Chitsa band that combines elements of rock, psychedelic music, classical music and American folk into a unique musical collage. From the hour 22:00, Truthday and Cristiana Dicianu I propose a musical and visual experience with pop, electro and drum&bass influences, inspiring states of happiness, energy, but also melancholy. The after-party with Seb start at 23:30.

Last day of the festival, Sunday, October 27starts at 16:30 with a discussion that promises to be passionate, in which Cornel Moraruuniversity lecturer in the framework UNABwill exchange ideas with Andrei Stan on the topic “The History of Collage in Art”. The contemporary dance performance follows “Take the WAL…s”a touring production of Bucharest National Dance Centercu Alexandra Mihaela Dancs and Vlad Benescu and sound design by Lala Misosniky. This is a dance performance performed in Casa Kerim and inspired by its architecture and history. In addition to the house in Parfumului 19, the creative process was supported during the summer by actually working with the waves of the Black Sea, during long surfing sessions, transforming the gesture of being “taken by the wave” into artistic practice. The summer atmosphere will then be maintained on the terrace by those from 7th Sensea band that builds fresh and unpredictable jazz on solid groove foundations, led by bassist Laura Benedict. in the attic, Color film continues the series of screenings starting at 20:30. Starting at 21:00the second edition of Collage Festival will be closed by a concert Acoustic Loversa final full of energy, with original acoustic pieces born from a vein of samba music.

The festival team consists of artists Cristiana Bucureci, Andrei Stan, Ada Moses, Nicoleta Ababei, Ruxandra Nicolae and Livia Marinescueach with complementary studies and knowledge. The 6 artists are the founders of the communities Bucharest Collage Collective and Romanian Collage Collective. Together, they promote the art of collage and representative artists from Romania, both through the festival itself and through the online platform where the 30 selected portfolios will be exhibited. Furthermore, the team plans to create a podcast with guests from this artistic sphere, wanting to release 10 episodes before the end of this year.

Collage Festival 2024 is a project co-financed by Administration of the National Cultural Fund (AFCN).

The project is initiated by Crayoneticsa communication agency that aims to support cultural projects in Romania by actively supporting a network of collaborators, specialists in communication strategies, for over 10 years. Starting from 2013, the Creionetica agency organized, curated and promoted projects dedicated to the mix of arts and, in particular, the art of collage in alternative spaces in Bucharest, Iași, Cluj and Timișoara, but also in international events.
