A citizen of Serbia was sentenced to 19 years in prison for attacking two people with a hammer in Vienna, for which he was charged with two attempted murders.

Namely, as reported by the Austrian media, it is about a 29-year-old citizen of Serbia who worked illegally at a construction site in Vienna. After finishing his shift, he came to Meiselmarkt and with two acquaintances, a man and a woman, drank until the morning hours.

However, after the woman refused to take a sip from his bottle, he flew into a rage and attacked them both with a construction hammer.

The victims already fell to the ground after the first blow with the hammer. But that was not enough for the Serb, he continued to hit the man.

During the trial, his lawyer tried to minimize the guilt, stating that his client is a “severe alcoholic” who was also under the influence of narcotics that night and that he was not conscious at the time of the attack. However, during the trial, video recordings of witnesses who were in favor of a multi-year prison sentence were shown, and which upset the judge himself.

Namely, the 43-year-old woman, who took care of the 51-year-old homeless man, came to visit him that night on July 16. Then a problematic Serb joined them. He hit the woman three times in the face with a hammer, after which she had two operations. He still has problems with speech and balance. The second victim had a fractured skull.

And while the Serb tried to justify himself in court that they were the ones who attacked him first, it did not go well with the judge and he was sentenced to 19 years for two attempted murders.
