Serbia broke the record for electricity consumption

BANJALUKA – The record consumption of electricity in the summer period in the Republika Srpska was recorded on Monday and amounted to 13 gigawatt hours of electricity on a daily basis, they told “Independent newspaper” from “Elektroprivreda RS”.

They pointed out that the consumption of electricity increased in the summer period.

“The reason is consumers who use devices for air conditioning the space they stay in due to extreme temperatures. According to the Electricity Balance of the Republic of Srpska, the average consumption for the month of July is 10,960,000 kWh of electricity per day. During the heat wave, the consumption increased by about 15 percent compared to this average value”, they stated from “Elektroprivreda RS”.

They added that the reason was extremely high temperatures and the duration of the heat wave, which caused increased electricity consumption due to the use of air conditioning devices.

“‘Elektroprivreda Republika Srpska’ has provided sufficient amounts of electricity for its consumers. Problems in orderly supply cannot be ruled out, but the probability of such events is very low“, they stated from this company.
