BANJALUKA – The President of the Fiscal Council of the Republika Srpska, Milenko Krajišnik, told Srna that the Republika Srpska is less indebted this year than it was two years ago, and that he does not know what the purpose of the US Embassy’s incorrect statements about the financial situation in Srpska was, other than to serve as a kind of political pressure.

Republika Srpska is not an over-indebted country at all, what’s more, this year due to the difficulties of entering the financial markets produced by the Western elites for political reasons, we returned more loans than we tookKrajišnik explained.

He pointed out that Republika Srpska maintains liquidity, although it has problems precisely because it is difficult to enter international markets.

You pay back the old loans, but you can’t take the new ones you planned to take, because some western banks won’t give it to you anymore for political reasons. In such circumstances, the country faces liquidity problems in the budget, but this is not the case only in Republika Srpska, it would happen to any country in such circumstances.Krajišnik said.

He emphasized that liquidity is maintained, salaries and pensions are paid, social benefits are even much more up-to-date than could be expected in such difficult times.
