Serbian athletes will not remember the Olympic Games in Paris in the best light. We hoped that athletics would bring us at least one medal, but the reality is quite different.

The journey to Paris has begun six of Serbian athletes, of whom in the end only Angelina Topic won a place in the final. Unfortunately, because injuries wrist, which she suffered during the warm-up, she could not fight for a medal, so she missed the final.

The most was expected from our most successful athlete, the long jumper Ivan Španović. It was questionable whether she would perform at the Games at all, and when it was announced that she would, she became concerned about the condition in which she would go to Paris. It definitely turned out to be she is not the real Ivana.

In her fifth appearance at the Games, Španović failed to reach the finals, just like her younger colleague. Milica Gardašević. In the end, neither of them were close to the finals, Ivana finished in a disappointing place 14th placeand Milica on 16.

They rounded off the bad performance of our athletes in Paris Elzan Bibić and Adriana Vilagoš on Wednesday.

Vilagoš finished the qualification in 13th place, one below the mark, and she was 59 centimeters short of the final. Bibic took 14th place in the 5,000 meter race. He was five seconds slower than the place that led to the final.
