Since 1is November 2024, Sausheim (Haut-Rhin), the Stellantis factory has changed bosses. Sergio Rivas Pikias, a 45-year-old Franco-Spaniard, succeeds Thierry Robert, promoted to a position in the Europe manufacturing department of Stellantis.
Graduated with a master’s degree in organizational engineering and industrial engineering from the Carlos III University of Madrid (Spain), Sergio Rivas Pikias, who completed his studies as an apprentice at Airbus. He spent his entire career in the PSA group, since then integrated into Stellantis.
Within the car manufacturer, on the Madrid site, he began by analyzing shoeing process times (2004) before becoming internal logistics project manager in 2008. Appointed head of the supply chain in 2012, he progressed in 2018 towards a position of editing director. Between April 2022 and May 2023, Sergio Rivas Pikias heads to Morocco to manage the Stellantis factory in Kenitra (Morocco). A position that he combined with that, held since November 2022, of head of Stellantis production for wider Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He was to attend and evaluate the vehicle and powertrain factories as part of the deployment of the internal management method called “Stellantis production way”.
A strategic plan to be implemented
In Mulhouse, Sergio Rivas Pikias will be responsible for continuing the energy transition of Powertrain vehicles and parts. The new director must also decline the strategic plan of the Dare Forward 2030 group in terms of economic performance, quality and decarbonization. The site has a vehicle manufacturing plant (Peugeot 308, 408, 508 and DS7), as well as a Powertrain center (a mechanical factory, a forge and a foundry).
In January 2024, Stellantis announced of its intention to reduce production on the sitewhich employs 4,250 employees and 1,700 temporary workers, with the elimination of a “half-shift” at night. In 2023, 198,000 vehicles will leave the Mulhouse assembly line.
