What a journey! Joseph Le Mer, the director and main shareholder of the Sermeta group, founded this company that designs and manufactures gas heat exchangers in 1993 in Morlaix (Finistère), using patented technology.
The group is now the world leader in stainless steel gas exchangers with condensation. Each year, 2.2 million exchangers are produced in the group’s two factories in Morlaix and Lannion (Côtes-d’Armor). 95% of them are sold abroad, in Europe, the United States, but also in Asia, mainly in China.
A man of innovation, Joseph Le Mer created ranges of exchangers in order to “reduce CO2 emissions by 25% compared to traditional boilers”the group says. Keen to anticipate the new standards to come, Sermeta, which employs 950 people and has an annual turnover of 260 million euros, has just invented a 100% hydrogen burner.
