According to initial reconstructions, the 44-year-old was crossing tracks 3 and 4 on foot when he was surprised by the passing train at Sesto San Giovanni station. The girl who was with him would have stopped in time, managing to save herself. The convoy had left shortly before Milan Central Station and was headed to Chiasso.
