Seven wickets in 92 runs, Bangladesh in fear of follow-on

Bangladesh did not get off to a good start with the bat even though they bowled well in the Chennai Test. Bangladesh bowled India out for 376 runs in the first Test of the Chennai Test. After batting, the five Tigers batsmen returned to the home base for only 40 runs on the Indian bowlers’ bowling balls. After that Shakib Al Hasan and Liton Das tied the pair. However, if Liton and Shakib return to the team’s 92 runs, Bangladesh is in danger of follow-on.

Sadman Islam and Zakir Hasan opened for Bangladesh in the first innings against India. However, this pair broke in the first over of the innings. Sadman Islam went back to court after being bowled by Jasprit Bumrah. On his departure, Bangladesh lost the first wicket by two runs.

Tiger captain Nazmul Hossain Shanto came to the crease after Sadman’s departure. Zakir and Shanto started playing together. But they also failed to take their pair far. Zakir Hasan returned to Sajghar after being bowled by Akash Deep for the team’s 22 runs. The pair of 20 runs broke on his departure.

After the departure of Zakir Hasan, Muminul Islam, who scored zero runs, returned to Sajghar in the same over. Bangladesh lost three wickets for 23 runs after his departure.

After losing 3 wickets for 23 runs, Mushfiq and Shanto formed a pair. The pair added 3 runs and Bangladesh went into the lunch break.

Shakib Al Hasan also returned to the dressing room after Liton. Jadeja also returned him. Shakib went back after making 32 runs off 64 balls, caught by Rishabh Pant off Jadeja. After his departure, Bangladesh lost 7 wickets for 92 runs and is in danger of follow-on.

Earlier today, on Friday (September 20), India started batting on the second day. The two unbeaten batsmen of the previous day, Ravindra Jadeja and Ravichandran Ashwin, went into bat on the second day today. However, pacer Taskin Ahmed did not allow this pair to go far on the second day. Ravindra Jadeja returned to the dugout after being caught by Liton Das off Taskin’s ball. He scored 86 runs on the first day but returned to the pavilion before scoring any runs on the second day. The pair of 199 runs broke on his departure.

Ravichandran Ashwin paired with Akash Deep after Jadeja’s departure. And then Taskin hit the Indian camp again. Aakash Deep went back to Sazghar after giving a catch to Nazmul Hossain Shanta at mid-off while blowing Taskin. On his departure, India lost 8 wickets for 367 runs.

After returning Jadeja and Akash Deep, Taskin sent back Ravichandran Ashwin who brought up the century. Ashwin was caught by Shantar at deep mid-wicket off Taskin and returned to the dugout. India lost 9 wickets for 374 runs after Ashwin’s departure.

After Taskin, Hasan Mahmood, who picked up four wickets the day before, hit the Indian camp. Jasprit Bumrah returned to the dressing room after handing over the catch to Zakir Hasan on Hasan’s ball. Hasan completes the Fifer back to Bumrah. Hasan became the first pacer of Bangladesh to take 5 wickets on Indian soil.
