Several iPads were completely destroyed by Apple’s new operating system –

Some tablets have had to be completely replaced after users tried to install iPadOS 18.

On September 16, the latest versions of Apple’s operating systems became available, i.e. iOS 18, iPadOS 18, watchOS 11, tvOS 18, visionOS 2 and macOS Sequoia. Shortly after the release of the updates, it became clear that many of the previously promised innovations of iOS 18 are not available in the European Union, and now all signs point to problems with iPadOS 18 for certain Apple tablets as well.

The other day, Apple blocked the ability to install the new software on the M4 iPad Pro models, which means that these tablets cannot be updated to iPadOS 18 at the moment. It seems very likely that the update was pulled after complaints from some iPad Pro owners who found that installing the new system completely ruined their devices.

Several user reports appeared on Reddit, in which they wrote that the installation of the new operating system was interrupted, and the iPad refused to turn on – so much so that the affected users needed a complete device replacement.

Apple is the one reporting the incident MacRumorsgave the following statement:

“We have temporarily removed the iPadOS 18 update on M4 iPad Pro models while we work to resolve the issue, which is affecting a small group of devices.”

Those affected are advised to take their device to an official service center.
