A huge scandal broke out on Thursday, July 18, in a neighborhood in the city of Leeds (Great Britain). Everything degenerated after the social protection services tried to raise a child from a Romanian family.
At that moment, hundreds of compatriots of that family took to the streets in protest. Immediately, numerous police officers were mobilized to the scene to calm the spirits. In a short time it came to confrontations between the two camps. A police car was overturned by the rampaging Romanians, he writes puterea.ro.
Several images showing the widespread scandal were posted on social media. According to witnesses, the Romanians reacted violently after, for reasons still unknown, Leeds social services tried to intervene in a family and take a child.
It is not known if there were any officers in the vehicle when it overturned.
West Yorkshire Police are yet to make an official statement regarding these incidents.
At around 22:00, Romanian time, the MAE announced that, following the images that appeared in the public space, it notified itself and took steps through the diplomatic mission and consular offices in addition to the authorities of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
