KCopenhagen will be the first municipality in Denmark to use tax dollars to clean up CO2 out of chimney smoke and store it underground.
All parties except the Conservatives and the Alternative are behind an agreement on next year’s budget, which sets aside DKK 450 million for the technology, known by its English abbreviation CCS (carbon capture and storage). It faces sharp criticism, not least because the state already supports CCS with a whopping DKK 37 billion.
